Well, the big trip is over and done. My mom, dad and I started out at 7:30 am and drove three and a half hours to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. First stop was my great-aunt Eleanor's house. We replaced the trunk in the corner of her garage where she wanted it, spend ten minutes chatting, then were on our way. I wonder if anyone will ever look in that trunk again?
Our next stop was at the mall for lunch at Bishops. That was pretty good.
Then we went to the cemeteries to put flowers on the graves of my grandparents, great-grandparents, and great-aunt.
We made a quick stop at Sam's Club to gas up and check if they had some garlic shrimp that the Rochester Sam's was out of. They didn't have it either. Bummer.
Back in the car and off to Waterloo to visit with my uncle Fred. We played some cards, and ended up spending about and hour and a half there.
Then we hopped back in the car to continue on to New Hampton to visit with my other grandparents. They have lots of plants, flowers and a huge garden. We spent some time checking it all out! Looks like a lot of work!
We stopped for some yummy Godfather's Pizza before heading home and completing the trip about 8:30 pm. So, all in all, it was a 13 hour round trip tour of Iowa with a lot accomplished.
Whew! I was a little tired and I slept in a little today :)
This afternoon we are on our way over to Dexter to celebrate my sister-in -law Heather's graduation with her degree. Hopefully it won't rain and we can enjoy the outdoors!
